Keep Your Eyes On Me

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. This scripture is a powerful reminder of Jesus’ unwavering faith and the importance of maintaining our own faith in Him.

Jesus, as the author and perfecter of our faith, is the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of Him and endured the cross, ignoring the shame, because He knew that the joy would be worth it. Now He is seated at the right hand of the throne of God, a position of honor and power.

Consider the example Jesus set for us. He endured opposition from sinners, yet He did not grow weary or lose heart. Instead, He remained steadfast in His faith, and His faith was rewarded with the ultimate joy of sitting at the right hand of God. We, too, must fix our eyes on Jesus and endure the trials we face, knowing that the joy set before us will be worth it.

In Hebrews 12:1-13, we are encouraged to throw off what hinders us, to resist sin, and to endure hardship as discipline. We are to strengthen our feeble arms and make level paths, all while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, and He will help us overcome any obstacle we face.

As we run the race of faith, we must keep our eyes on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He is the one who started this journey with us, and He is the one who will complete it. We can trust in His faithfulness and His love, knowing that He will never abandon us.

So, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before us, let us endure the cross, despising the shame, and sit down at the right hand of the throne of God.

May God continue to inspire and motivate you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.
